The next three games for MCC were against Southeast, Northeast, and Central. On January 26, 2010 McCook C.C. traveled to Beatrice, Nebraska to take on the Southeast Storm. The storm took an early 12-2 lead and it did not look good at first for McCook but MCC buckled down on D and went on to win the Game 75-70. Free throws came up big for the Indians as MCC went 12-14 from the line to seal the win. Antonio Dye led the team in points with 24 and Marcus Landry led us in rebounding with 9.

MCC’s next 2 games were games at Northeast CC and Central CC (Back To Back Days), with the 1st contest going up against Northeast CC in Norfolk, NE . This game started out the same as the southeast game, as Northeast went up 10-0 early. MCC battled back to be down only 32-29 at the half. In the second half McCook got after it defensively and was scorching hot in the shooting category, and outscored Northeast 44-26 to win the game 73-58, with the game being put out of reach late in the 2nd half. Antonio Dye led us with 19 points, Andrew Hanson had 17 points, and Darius Robinson had 13 points, Marcus Landry led the team in rebounding with 15 boards.

13 hours later we traveled to Central C.C. in Columbus. It had been well known before the game that under Coach Lenhart and Coach Reagan our team has never swept this weekend trip with 2 wins, and after beating Northeast CC the previous evening put MCC in the driver’s seat to accomplish what has never been done in their tenures. MCC got out to an 11-2 start and had a 69-42 lead at halftime and went on to win the game 108-94. MCC shot 16 of 32 from 3 in this game. Antonio Dye had 32, Andrew Hanson had 22 and George Pollard had 14. Andrew Hanson led the team in rebounding with 8 boards. MCC would finally sweep this weekend for the first time in the Coach Reagan and Coach Lenhart Era. After 24 games MCC’s record is 17-7. MCC is averaging 86 points per game and is giving up 76 points per game for a plus scoring margin on the season of 10 points per game.

“We are very proud of our Basketball Family at this juncture in our basketball journey! Going on the road this week for 3 games, and coming away with 3 wins is very special, this team continues to improve in all facets of basketball. We are taking it 1 day and 1 game at a time, and have a huge 3 game stretch taking place this weekend/week with them all being at home. We take on Western Nebraska CC 2/6/10, North Platte CC 2/9/10, and Central CC 2/12/10. We could put ourselves in great position to win the sub-region with a win vs. Western Nebraska this weekend!”
